Bicycle mounting LED module can easily change into "walking halo"

Cyclists can choose to install an LED light on the spokes of their bicycles so that the wheels can be turned into a walking "halo" during the ride. Now, Monkey Lectric, a startup from California, USA, has decided to bring a new direction to the technology, that is, LED lights can start automatically and only when necessary.

The brand-new A15 Automatic Monkey Light, which consists of an LED module and a cylindrical battery, was advertised on the crowdsourcing website Kickstarter.

There are two RGB LEDs on each side of the LED module, each with 40 lumens output. Thanks to the ambient light sensors and accelerometers in the module, they only start when it‘s dark and only when the wheels are moving. This function saves users the time to turn on and off the power manually, and also prolongs the time between battery charging.

It was learned that each USB charge lasts for up to 17 hours, and the lithium battery inside needs to be removed when it needs to be recharged.

Through two buttons on the LED module, the user has 23 light color/pattern choices.

The whole system weighs 105 grams, has waterproof function, suitable for 16 inches or larger wheels, and sells for $40 (equivalent to about 275 yuan).
